I have attempted to speak to you over the past two days without success.
Today, I was disappointed to hear from a member of your staff that you refuse to talk to me. Whether this evasion on your part is of a temporary or permanent nature she could not say. It would have been more appropriate for you to tell me yourself, rather than leave it to a junior staff member.
On behalf of my clients, the decision stated in your letter of 19th January will be formally challenged within the next few days.
One point that is particularly objectionable is contained in the fourth paragraph.
You state that the Scottish Courts traditionally place great weight upon any assertion of the Crown that it is not in the public interest for certain documents to be disclosed, except in exceptional circumstances. I would put it to you that there can surely be nothing more exceptional than the conduct of the present incumbent of the office of Lord Advocate, who has provably lied and persistently perverted the course of justice by obstructing investigations into systematic, multiple gang-rape of children and now even murder.
Under Mrs Elish Angiolini, the Crown Office has lost all moral authority in this case and it is thus both presumptuous and arrogant for you to assume that the Scottish Courts would continue to “place great weight” on any information that may emanate from a thoroughly corrupt and discredited Lord Advocate.
Nothing could be more in the public interest than that the full protection of the law be implemented towards its most vulnerable members and more blatant examples of the most sickening and evil crimes committed against Hollie Greig and other children could scarcely be imagined.
It is to be hoped that you will not continue to shirk your public duty and therefore look forward from a positive response and an undertaking that you will not persist in avoiding correspondence with me.
